My Dad and I

It had been so long in this small place,
for nine months I’ve been in here without knowing a thing.
My eyes were closed like I don’t want to see and think.
A dream came true, I’m finally out.
I can’t see but I know,
My new place would be nice and warm without a doubt.

Once I came out with closing eyes,
there was a generous looking guy.
He held me against his chest.
It was warm and loved I enjoyed the best.

The first time he saw me,
He was happy with tears he cried.
He made a promise to himself,
that he will love and take care of me until he dies.

You’re my man, and you’re my dad
I was little and I’m yours
You kissed, carried, and hugged me
I can feel the love even if I was in the middle of the sea.

Every night you took me to bed
Dad,
you scratched my back and sang me a song.
I enjoyed it even though you can’t really sing,
but under my words your voice sings soft and slow.
From you I learned the rules of right and wrong.

I’m growing up and we gave each other hard times.
We argued and you made me cried.
We never understand each other,
and I don’t know why.
When I did something bad or made mistakes,
you complained and called me stupid.
I know you hurt and disappointed,
but I wanted to tell you that I felt the same,
and calling me stupid caused me pain.

But because of your duty and business,
We’re now far from each other
What a freedom and a peaceful world.
No more arguments, complains, and no more commands,
telling me to do this or that in a certain times.

But then I realized,
that’s not what I really wanted.
And I don’t think I can live without it.

Dad, I miss you
I miss you and your daily complains
I miss our weekly arguments and you calling me slow
I miss your kisses and the warmth of your arms.
And you are mean sometimes,
But when I look inside your heart,
Where no one else can see,
I found you’re sentimental,
and soft as you can be.
You tried to keep me from making mistakes.
But by letting me find my own ways,
even though your heart breaks in silence every time I get hurt.

Thanks for everything,
every complains and the sacrifices you made.
Thanks for your lessons and for working hard to provide your family,
which makes me really happy.
Thanks for loving and caring.
I’m proud of you and thanks for your protection,
which to you, I never mentioned.

Even though we’re living apart,
my love to you is never less.
I’ll try to do and be like you expected me to do and be.
And I’m sorry if I ever made you cried.
I’m sorry for the time I’ve caused you pain.
After the brief storm,
we will be together again,
and love will always remain.
